NEW YORK AMERICAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION ELECTS New York, NY (May 30, 2006)— The New York American Marketing Association, an organization dedicated to advancing the practice of marketing communications effectiveness, has elected its new Board of Directors for fiscal year 2007, effective July 1, 2006. The Board of Directors oversee the New York AMA’s flagship properties including the EFFIE® Awards, which recognize creative ideas and communications mediums that contribute to a brand's success, as well as the GreenBook® Directories, reference books for Marketing Research Services. In addition, the New York AMA develops and produces programming on marketing industry trends and strategies. New York AMA Officers include: Linda Cornelius, Brand Consultant, who will begin her term as New York AMA President in July (serving through June 30, 2007). Cornelius succeeds Gary Steele, Executive Vice President, McCann WorldGroup, who served as President from 2005-2006. He will remain on the Board as Immediate Past President. President-Elect: Taylor Gray, World Wide Associate Publisher and Marketing Director, TIME, who will serve as New York AMA President from 2007-2008. Newly Elected as First Vice President, Carl Johnson, Co-Founder, Anomaly. Johnson will become President of the New York AMA in July 2008.
